At Bathurst we just set up for the first day at this beautiful caravan site. We explored the different sites available before setting up. It had a pool with a water slide, jumpy pillow and much more. We took our dogs around and we found a perfect spot in the shade. At that site we set up and could not wait for the next day.

In the morning thinking of a great day, I woke up with passion for this great trip. For 1 week and 4 days mum decided to work so she met up with this other osteopath. I had breakfast before we went to the museum at Bathurst. The museum is home to some of the rarest minerals and fossils in the world. It also has a gallery of dinosaur fossils including the T Rex. It was founded on the 10 February 2011 by Warren Somerville. One man’s passion is Bathurst’s great treasure. When Warren was a little boy he found his first fossil specimen near Orange that gave him the interest for collecting fossils and minerals. 60 years later he donated all his properties to the museum and the people of Australia. Did you know they put a little gold in the computer circuit? After that wonderful adventure we picked my mum up from work then arrived back at our caravan park.

On the Third day we took it easy at a slow pace checking out our surroundings at the caravan park. Our biggest finding was the pool although you had to be supervised if under 12. Later that day as we were begging to go to the pool dad decided to take us shopping at the wrong time for supplies. We first went to BFC (Boating, Fishing and Camping) were my brothers and I played hide and seek while dad was on the phone.

When I went to check on dad he already decided to take me into the 3rd Bathurst scout group weekly meet without asking for my opinion. I was a bit hesitant about going and not knowing anybody, but mum reassured me. When we finally arrived at the scout hall we met up with the leader before playing some games. Later that day we constructed a catapult out of basic materials such as sticks and rocks. In the end we succeeded but at a high price a lot of splinters. I met a few new friends before heading home and having a shower before resting my bones under my warm sleeping bag.

The next day I woke up and mum said were going to Abercrombie house. What’s cool about Bathurst is that you don’t find many places like Abercrombie house. As I was asking mum about it she said it was a 52-roomed house. I thought is that possible? and then I thought about what it would be like to have a house like that. I would have a game room, 3 living rooms,10 storage rooms, a dog room,5 toilets and much more. We got there and went for a tour and what they said it is a small house compared to the ones they build in Scotland. We eventually found a pet room which had a turtle and a snake. 52 rooms later we found an emu feather and we set sail to a famous racing track.

The racing track is called Mount Panorama and we got to drive on the track, but we still lost against motor bikes and racing cars. The track was about 5 minutes long before another lap starts so we just did one lap.

On Saturday it was a busy day because we volunteered for a scout’s barbecue. It was in a town center were they held the motor bike show where you can vote for the best bike. Unfortunately, I couldn’t vote because I oversaw handing out sausages at the barbeque. After a lot of work that was just one hour which felt like two hours. In the end I got a big ice cream it was worth it lemon flavor was delicious.
