Logwood Showgrounds
On our second showground experience we ended up in a small town called Lowood. As we quickly unpacked to got ready to explore we found some good restaurants, decent toilets and a few other things.
Good Friday Reflection
Today as it is good Friday we reflected and honour what Jesus did for us. Suffered and died for us to later revived to be by God’s side and today he stands watching over us. We celebrated this wonderful event by being with family, eating fish and by praying. We relaxed for the day honouring and praying while knowing Jesus will always guide us in everything we do.
Wanting to go to church we walked to the closest one which was a Christian church. The service went for around an hour including the choir, people talking out loud and lots of food. We got very tired but luckily it ended and we got to meet this wonderful family over food.
They invited us to stay at their house, we were very grateful and said goodbye.
After staying at Lowood for a few days we got ourselves a neighbour, his name was Rohan and he was in lowood picking up a small sailboat called the "Zin". After a few minutes of adult conversation he invited us to go on his boat! That was way more than we bargained and we were all very excited as we arrived at a nearby lake. Only starting to know him we took turns going on as it was a rather a small boat, only for 5 people.

As always I had to wait but something good came out of waiting with mum as she gave me a premium back massage. As I was helping myself to some snacks the boat with my brothers arrived back at the shore. I jumped on with mum we set sail towards nowhere. At some point I got to touch the water and on others I nearly fell off the boat. Just before arriving to shore I got to jump of the boat as I said ‘man over board’. I swam and enjoyed the cold water. We relaxed with some more snacks before we played a game of catch to make time go faster. We eventually left and listened to Harry Potter audiobook.
Later in the week we had to leave the Lowood Showgrounds as there was a formal country ball ‘’Spuds and Studs’’ on the oval for grown-ups, 18+. So we decided to spend a week at the friend’s house we met at church while the ball was happening. The family was Bella the daughter aged 5, Steve and Amy.

They lived in a big house and had a cat, treehouse and I must not forget to mention the quad bike. I totally forgot about setting up our caravan as I had my eyes on the prize in this situation the quad bike.

We fairly organised ourselves before having our first dinner at their house. I smelt a cook at work as I was talking to Bella over the TV. We waited a while before we got the table all decorated with delicious food. We prayed before we ate, we admired the food on our plates.
We were getting ready to sleep before Steve told us that we could have showers in the shed. They were very generous and after having a nice hot shower I relaxed in my bed.
It was amazing as they took us in and fed us like we already met them.

On Friday we were in for a treat as my family except my dad (as he had to look after the dogs) went to the Commonwealth Games! It really made my day as I saw Aussie athletes climb the leaderboard, gold after gold and sometimes a silver or bronze. I was inspired, Australia was really good at the Commonwealth Games as we won 198 medals including 80 gold, 59 silver and 59 bronze. We mostly watched the track and field event and the heptathlon as they were the ones we had tickets for. A Heptathlon is a series of 7 events including high jump, 200 metres, 800 meters, javelin, long jump, 100 meters hurdles and shot-put. We didn’t do well in the heptathlon as we came 3 and 7 in the ranks. When doing the heptathlon, you do 4 events in the first day and 3 on the next day.

Enough about the Commonwealth, as I was starving as we went through all the snacks. I had a budget of $20 so I went for a stroll looking for something filling. I found an ice cream truck, but it cost, for example a drumstick was worth the same price if you bought a box in Woolies. We met up with some friends at the Commonwealth Games before going back to the car together, we went through the exit named (Surfers Paradise). Not forgetting about the aluminium water bottles, we couldn’t bring them in because of security so we went back to find where we hid ours and luckily it was still there.
After exiting the building, we started walking and realised that dad had the car, so we went back which took like 10 minutes of walking. My legs weren’t up for the challenge as we had no water and no car until I got the amazing idea of taking a shuttle bus. The lines were not short, but I really didn’t care as I heard my brothers and my mum thanking me for the idea which cheered me up. Once we were in the bus I wanted to take a little snooze, I found my comfortable spot, tried to drift off until I heard the bus stop. I felt like I needed an electric scooter as we had nothing, as I walked out I realised that we were going to have a dip at the beach. We had no bathers, but I was up for the challenge as I was burning to a crisp. We took a few photos before I jumped into the crowded beach like it was a big fluffy couch.

I tried swimming, but my pants weren’t meant for swimming as it was filling up with sand. The waves were big and so were the see-saws as they had big ones at the beach (they had organised these for the Commonwealth Games).

When I was completely wet and as mum wanted us to come out we left and saw a big shiny car with someone with an outgrown beard and I though that was dad. We left the water and headed home to see our dogs. Once in the caravan it was great not to have sand on me and to be on my bed watching the tele.
It was nearly the end of Lowood, so we decided to see some old friends; Lyn, Mark and Muppet the dog. The last time we saw them was 2 years ago when we went around Australia. We were supposed to meet up in a park not far from Lowood, but the problem was there was plenty of parks everywhere. After going to the wrong place we eventually found them having a picnic waiting for us. We rushed to find a car park. We squeezed through a small spot, Lyn loves skulls therefore the last time we went to the market I bought one for her. We got there and for a few seconds admired the food on the rug before saying hi and patting Muppet the dog. We brought our dogs as well I couldn’t understand what they were saying but they just barked at each other. We went to the park for a little and I started pushing them high in the air on the big swing. We started getting bored after playing with them for around half an hour. I gave Lyn the skull and she loved it, the skulls colour which was orange represents fast energy.

We started wrestling with Mark and started stealing each other’s shoes an old classic. In the end as he was a grown up he was sitting on us like we were a pillow and I surrended. He may have won the battle, but he hasn’t won the war I said to myself. It was getting very late and we thought it was time to wrap this up, so we took some photos.

They were going to visit us when we were back in Melbourne when we finish the trip. We got in the car and headed home before it got dark.
It was our last day with Steve, Amy and Bella so we wasted no time doing silly things. We jumped on the quad bike and practiced our driving skills for a little while dad and mum where having breakfast with Steve.

As I nearly crashed in plenty of occasions I kept going showing off to my brothers. The dogs were under the car taking cover from the quad bike as it was very loud. We went to their house had a beautiful breakfast and started racing around the house with Bella the little girl, to entertain her.

We had our last get together, took photos and wished them best luck before we went back on the road. We also went back to say good bye to our other friends at the showgrounds . I patted their dogs and wished them best luck as well, for real this time as we were leaving Lowood.
