A fishing place……
After having a ‘’Georgeous’’ time at Georgetown we said goodbye to our friends and headed to Karumba. I prepared myself for a long back hurting drive. At half way there we quickly stopped at the world’s biggest crocodile ever caught. It looked prehistoric and some part of me felt glad that it had been killed.

Before I drifted of I saw a purple pub which was just funny. We arrived at Karumba at 2:00pm and I was exhausted. Some nice people greeted us and gave us a spot at the overflow area.

Karumba was another recommended site because of fishing. When we were all awake again we tried our luck at the beach.

After hearing that our friends Toni and Graham caught a massive Barramundi with no bait we used our best lures. When we were about to cast a line guess who we met up with? They couldn’t stop following us Deb and Darren. We had a chat and started fishing together. I tried using "El squido" as my bate but nothing was biting. I thought the only thing we could eat was ourselves as we were getting fried. As we headed back a car stopped and a man asked "did you catch any fish?’’ we said no and before we knew it he chucked three huge fish our way. He said he had thirty-seven, so we took them. In the end if anyone asked us, did you catch those fish? We said yes as we caught the fish off the fishermen, our little secret.

Gregory Downs
After having a beautiful lunch, we headed off to Gregory downs, a free camp on the way to Lawn Hill. We got a beautiful spot by the river which benefited us as every afternoon we would jump in with the current.

We met some friends that were Irish while we were on the rope swing. It was endless fun until my hand had blisters in every spot. One day my mother decided to join us with is rare as she doesn't like this type of stuff.

We went to the start and let the current do the work. It took about 5 minutes with a series of obstacles such as ducking under a tree. It was such an experience for me on the other hand my mum nearly hit her head on the tree.
Before leaving a lady was throwing meat in the sky to attract kites a few nearly swooped my head looking for meat.
Lawn Hill
The next stop was one of mum’s favourite places: Lawn Hill. Three years ago, we went on Canoes through the most beautiful gorge ever. Unfortunately they jacked up the prices, so we had to do something else.

We went to a caravan park because of the dogs and after packing up we went to the Lawn Hill Gorge. One of the best gorges I’ve ever been to as I saw the rocks reflecting on the water. I felt so privileged to be here.
